At the heart of the Mill Street Market will be our Farm Stop Market & Café. The Farm Stop Market & Café will not only redefine rural possibilities, it will also strengthen local food systems, improve access to healthy food, and create economic opportunities for local farmers and small businesses through a set of services.
Farm Stops are mission-driven, year-round retail markets that connect small and mid-scale farmers directly with consumers. Operating primarily on a consignment model, they offer producers fair pricing, flexible participation, and consistent visibility while providing shoppers with daily access to fresh, locally grown food. By bridging the gap between local agriculture and community demand, Farm Stops play a vital role in strengthening regional food systems.
The Cafe will offer coffees, teas, pastries, and food items sourced from our vendors. While our focus is on local, seasonal offerings, we will also feature thoughtfully selected goods from fair trade cooperatives and small, mission-driven businesses.
* While construction is underway, we are eager to speak with farmers throughout the state of Michigan, small product producers, and entrepreneurs interested in having their products available in retail and/or our online offerings!
