Entrepreneurial Education

The Entrepreneurial Education program, operated by the nonprofit Mill Street Opportunity Alliance through the Mill Street Incubator Kitchen, provides hands-on business and culinary training to local food entrepreneurs. The program equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to launch and grow sustainable food businesses while strengthening the regional food economy.

The program focuses on education, skill-building, and economic development:

  • Teaching food safety, licensing, and regulatory compliance

  • Supporting product development, recipe scaling, and packaging

  • Providing guidance on branding, marketing, and business operations

  • Preparing entrepreneurs to enter retail, wholesale, and community markets

By providing these educational opportunities, the program helps create local jobs, launch new food businesses, and expand access to locally produced foods, all while fostering a stronger, more resilient regional food system.

  • Farmers developing value-added products

  • Caterers, bakers, and specialty food operators
